Baby-tracking apps can trigger anxiety in new parents article
Tracking my baby's weight gain reminded me of dieting apps and my unhealthy relationship with them.
Being able to see how much a baby is eating in a day may help some parents.
Experts recommend inputting data at certain times of the day and not constantly.

Overall from the researches, 30 American and 30 Chinese parents indicated they needed for
Smart information on the basis of analysis of the data they tracked in an app, on the baby’s age, and on the baby’s development phase.
Chinese parents were asked about their ideal app, they first mentioned their need for tracking their baby’s feeds, sleep, and growth, and then they mentioned their need for scientifically underpinned suggestions on the basis of data analytics.
American first mentioned the need for an easy-to-use solution, and then they mentioned the need for a solution that can track all important details of their baby’s development (feeding, sleep, and growth).
American parents indicated the need for intelligent feedback, advice, and predictions on the basis of smart data analysis.
The research of the user’s needs and the Health Care Provider’s suggestions. The Web-based community study took place in the United States and China, and it was executed in January 2015.
Health Care Providers and Professionals consider it important that insights guide parents in interpreting the information provided and do not present a one-and-only truth. Another point mentioned by HCPs was about the importance of underpinning insights with scientific evidence and linking insights to articles with more detailed information.

Branding
Concept : GentleGrowth is the baby tracker application, "GentleGrowth" captures the concept of helping babies grow and develop gently and with care. The name is clear, and simple, and shows the app wants to make parents feel good.
Logo : I created the logo using a vibrant orange color that catches attention and feels pleasant. The central element of the logo is the letter 'g', designed to resemble a baby wrapped in a soft towel, giving a sense of comfort. This perfectly aligns with the cozy and joyful atmosphere that babies bring.
Additionally, the logo signifies our app's purpose of helping babies grow in a caring way, while also ensuring that parents have a stress-free experience.
The use of orange adds a touch of happiness and liveliness to the logo. Overall, the logo embodies the essence of our app, "GentleGrowth," which focuses on creating a kind and supportive environment for both babies and parents as they embark on this exciting journey together.

What worked
UI design is unique and consistent for the users, it gives the energy of a baby.
Simple to use, the users can complete the tasks.
The information hierarchy is good, and the users can read and figure out the tasks smoothly.
Iteration based on Recommendations
For the search for articles by professionals, it would be better if the user could filter or sort the topics.
The smart notification setting should have a notification area to follow the muted notifications.
The Health icon looks more Setting icon for the user.
For the baby’s profile sharing, It should have access permission to allow the second user can edit or view only for the earlier part of profile sharing.
Also for the user’s familiarity, the sharing icon should be on the same page as the profile so the user doesn’t need to go to the settings for sharing.

Success metrics
Task 1 and Task 3 are 100% completed by the users.
All participants are satisfied with the UI design and logo.
4 participants completed all tasks within 5 minutes.
Next steps
I will keep the UI design style and stay consistent.
I will improve the design as the user suggests to make the application more usable and accessible.
